Writerly Life

Maybe I was a teensy, weensy TOO HASTY when I -in one of my It's a Wonderful Life-moments said I didn't necessarily want a space to call my own. A space where I could shut the door and actually write on the weekends.

I would miss so much....

The sound of the Little Mermaid blaring in the background while my lovely child repeats EVERY word. Which I am hoping she grows out of since I don't think, but could be wrong, that there are any jobs available for Disney Movie Repeaters when she's grown.

It's a bit difficult to write about romance when the dog is racing back and forth to be let outside because he's getting old and there are NO doggie Depends products. It's hard to keep my train of thought.

Just imagine typing.....

He reached for her and in a husky voice said, "MOM!! THE DOG NEEDS TO GO OUTSIDE!!"

WHA--???

Of course, if I tried to write a novel about the lively antics of lovely children and a hubby, they would all be QUIET and give me no inspiration whatsoever. So I wouldn't be able to write then either.

I think today calls for the purchase of a LAPTOP (are you listening, SANTA?) and future trips to the obscure little corner in the bookstore where I can write to my heart's content. Not that I don't love my family, because I do, I do , I do.

I just want to be able to write sometimes without getting interupt.................
